Act 184-2026 provides that later agreed modifications to provisions concerning custody, parental authority, support, parent-child relations and the protected family home in a stipulation protocolized with a notarial divorce may be made in a written document signed by the parties and their legal representatives, sworn before and protocolized by a notary. The modification must be noted in the margin of the divorce instrument; if a different notary protocolizes the modification, that notary must notify the original authorizing notary for the required notation or cross-reference. Counsel must advise the parties that a disagreement may be presented to a court. The act took effect immediately upon approval.
